Some of the most enjoyable wines with the most of memorable of occasions for me have not come from some exclusive vineyard with the best vintage in 100 years, but from a solid, enjoyable, easy drinking wine that matched the mood and atmosphere. A simple selection with out pretense to take outdoors to the park, concerts on the square, or by the fire pit in the back yard.

The spokesperson for our wine special this week is Antonio the Bull from Spain. Antonio says," I'm young, sociable, carefree, modern, likeable, friendly to everyone, casual, adventurous, generous, sensitive and ecological. I like trying new things, traveling and eating." The wines he is enjoying are the Beso de Vino wines from the Cariñena region of Northern Spain. The wines are produced at the Grandes Vinos y Viñedos wine co-operative that adheres to the highest standards for industry and environmentally friendly production. The co-operative sources the grapes from 40+ year old vines, covering over 5000+ hectares in the heart of the Cariñena. Beso de Vino is also the first winery to use the Korked twist top that has a membrane to allow the wine to breathe similar to a real cork stopper.

2008 Beso de Vino Macabeo - Very fresh, aromatic white w/ great fruit weight on the palate. Tropical, citrus with a snappy dry finish.
2008 Beso de Vino Garnacha Rose - Fresh strawberry, rhubarb pie, meaty, luscious, juicy and fun to drink.
2007 Beso de Vino Seleccion - 100% Syrah for this vintage, Rich, upfront ripe black berry nose w/ hints of cardamom spice, coco & coffee.
