Grandes Vinos y Viñedos S.A. is the name of the Winery which was founded in 1997 with the aim of being the main economic driving force of the region. It bases its strategy on quality, innovation and commitment to the surroundings and the environment and striving for modern, new working systems and better control of all the processes right from the vine stock, creating unique wines with a great character, typical of the region.

The new Winery premises were opened in 2002, more than 60,000 m2, equipped with the most state-of-the-art technology: a blending house with stainless steel tanks that hold between 10,000 and 200,000 litres, a bottling line producing 12,000 bottles/hour and an ageing building that can store 20,000 casks.

With the EFQM Excellence Model in process, the Winery already has the ISO-9001:2000 quality, ISO-14001:2004 environmental, IFS International Food Standard and BRC British Retail Consortium Certificates.

Going beyond the environmental Certificate, the Winery follows a strategy that is committed to combining environmental protection with the best quality possible of wine production. The environmental Intelligence applied to the precision agriculture, the optimisation of vineyard irrigation, the complete waste treatment and the use of a solar field at the Winery to reduce the production process energy consumption and C02 emission into the atmosphere make us the leading company in the sector with regards to environmental matters.
